One Rock, One Year: Mermaid Rock

Amazing set of photos by Eagle’s Nest owner, Tom Bender; a visual study of one large rock on Neahkahnie Beach and seasonal, tidal & light shifts over an entire year. “Mermaid Rock,” as it’s fondly called by locals, spends part of her time in the winter completely covered in sand and then generally, in the summertime, she’s almost fully revealed and surrounded by a “moat” of deep, sand tide pools.
